My Udemy Course

I recently thought about creating a Udemy course on the topic of website chatbots.

It turns out, there is practically zero incentive for creating a course on Udemy for course creators who have even a small existing audience.

First, I found out that Udemy doesn’t allow me to promote my own material anywhere in course.

Just to be sure, I sent an email to Udemy

I am almost certain I cannot use Udemy for my specific course based on the Terms of Service, but I thought I should at least ask before deciding.

The topic of my course is “Website Chatbots”. How am I supposed to create course material without a demo which shows the bot working on my website?

and received the following response:

You must leave it clear on your course landing page that your course includes some demos of the chatbot at work and it is required that they access your website/social media.

What we do not condone is the usage of links to content that is paid material/resource and that the instructor is using sites in which he can collect students’ emails and personal information.

Your scenario would be admissible, please let us know if you have additional queries.

So now I have TWO problems. As someone who is developing an app for Dialogflow bot creators, and very much thinks that using the app will speed up the development of these chatbots, this also means that I cannot mention my app in the course content either.

I decided to skip Udemy and will be publishing it on my own course platform instead. (Details will be available once I release the course).

Free: Dialogflow ES Crash course for non-programmers

I recently changed the name of my website from Mining Business Data to BotFlo. To help spread the word, and to hopefully get people to bookmark my website, I am making a set of my training courses free for a few weeks.

"The magic key I needed as a non-programmer"

The custom payload generator was the magic key I needed (as a non-programmer) to build a good demo with rich responses in DialogFlow Messenger. I've only used it for 30 minutes and am thrilled. I've spent hours trying to figure out some of the intricacies of DialogFlow on my own. Over and over, I kept coming back to Aravind's tutorials available on-line. I trust the other functionalities I learn to use in the app will save me additional time and heartburn.
