I have changed the name of this website from Mining Business Data to BotFlo. I am offering a 70% off discount on my Dialogflow CX course (till April 15th 2021) for people who can help me spread the word about my new website.

Flowchart to Chatbot course

To show how you can build fairly robust bots in Dialogflow CX, I have created a demo bot called DFChooser and added it to this page. It essentially uses the same ideas described in the video and helps you to choose between ES and CX. It is only a demo bot – so don’t take its recommendation as the final word 🙂 Type the word “Help” into the chat widget on the bottom right of this page to get started.

If you didn’t know, the folks at Google recently introduced Dialogflow CX, which is meant for developing large or very complex agents. The older version of Dialogflow has been renamed to Dialogflow ES (short for Essentials), and is more suited to develop small and simple agents.

You can also find a comparison chart on this page.

Please note that whatever follows is my opinion as of September 2020. A lot of things have changed since then. You are welcome to read the rest of the article, but please keep in mind that the video and the links above are more up-to-date opinions.

    1. While it is still early days, I also think Dialogflow CX addresses many of the obvious problems in ES. There is clearly a steep learning curve for CX, but my current impression is that the Dialogflow team has pulled off something pretty remarkable here.
